Due to publicity in a number of online news outlets, we have received many inquiries from people wondering whether this Web site is legitimate or if it is a "joke" site.
We would like to respond by saying that this is, indeed, a real site. However, as you will see as you read our contact instructions, we insist that anyone who has genuinely suicidal feelings contact a legitimate suicide-prevention source immediately and worry about how to contact us only if there is truly no other solution. In a perfect world, Attractive Corpse would never have another client, and frankly we could live with that.
Some people have expressed concern that our business glorifies suicide, might make suicide look attractive, or might be insulting to those who have had a suicide in their family. We do not intend any of these. We believe that suicide is a sad necessity for a tragic few, not something to be glorified or aspired to. To those who have suffered a suicide in their family, we can only offer our condolences and suggest that you not seek out suicide-related Web sites, as they may cause you unnecessary grief.
If you still have doubts about our sincerity, we suggest that you contact Snopes or another trusted information source and ask them to verify what we have said.
As an aside we would like to thank those who sent photos of individuals wearing our t-shirts at Disneyland for "Bat's Day in the Fun Park." Although we appreciate the gesture, we hasten to point out that we do not consider ourselves part of goth culture (although some of our clients have been).
Note: Rumors of our producing a coffee-table book of our work are completely false. We do not publish photographs of our clients (the photos on this Web site are not of real suicides -- they were all staged for publicity purposes.)
